FluidBody Rolfing -- STATUS: Open for Business. Re-opened June 17th.
New Safety Protocols
Dear clients, and potential clients,
Recently I installed an air filtration system ( AirExpect brand 3 Stage Filtration, 22dB Quiet H13 True HEPA Filter designed to remove 99.97% of airborne particles) to further protect my clients, and myself, from Coronavirus. The machine is highly effective in clearing any virus particles, should they happen to enter my space. This is in addition to many safety protocols I am following since the State of Connecticut allowed personal services businesses to re-open in June.
Some of you may not be comfortable or able to visit until there are additional assurances, such as reliable vaccines and/or treatment for Covid-19. I completely understand and respect this, and hope to have the opportunity to work with you someday soon, now that vaccines are indeed being rolled out in the U.S.
For your safety I will be following newly created Connecticut State mandates which draw upon guidelines from the likes of CDC, EPA and OSHA. Specific protocols for massage therapists to follow and certify compliance to were only just released June 8th. I will implement these and several others which are not required that I believe provide important additional safety measures.
What I will do:
- Take my temperature before each workday begins, and not come in if it exceeds 100.4 degrees F.
- Get tested every two (2) weeks for Covid-19 at my local health facility and display the most recent test results in my office. My last test, in late May, was negative.
- Wash my hands thoroughly just before working with each client, after disinfecting the studio, and just after completing a session.
- Always wear a facemask.
What You Can do:
- Wear a facemask while here.
- Use the hand sanitizer provided when entering the studio.
- On the day of your session, if you experience even the slightest illness-related symptoms, I will not be put out by last minute cancellations.
The following delineates protocols we will follow.
HYGIENE PROTOCOL for a safe space protecting client and practitioner:
More Time Between Scheduled Clients: Appointments will be spaced out to avoid two persons being in the studio simultaneously. The additional time will be used to properly disinfect all possible touchpoint surfaces. When clients arrive, they will be asked to go right into the treatment room and not lingering in the waiting room.
Disinfecting: Before the day begins and every time anyone leaves, I will use disinfecting products meeting Federal EPA’s criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2 (*) that are appropriate for the specific surface. Prior to wiping the surface, I will allow the disinfectant to sit for the necessary contact time recommended by the manufacturer.
After each guest leaves, disinfectants will be used on all relevant touchpoints as follows: door handles (both sides, both doors); client chairs; credit card payment terminal, payment desk surface; all products I use (e.g., lubricant bottles); light switches; water cooler. (**)
Upon arrival you may be asked to have your temperature checked using a touchless (iProven brand) infrared thermometer. I will not work on anyone exceeding 100.4 deg. F.
End of session: If paying by credit card at session end, I will handle your card with a disposable tissue, disposable gloves or other means to avoid contact.
Linens (sheets & pillowcases): Since opening my studio years ago I have always used and will continue to use a professional linen service. This is now a requirement by CT state in response to the virus outbreak. They are also requiring a waterproof barrier be placed under the sheet, over any massage table coverings.
Further, I have always complied with a long-standing Greenwich law requiring all sheets and pillowcases, upon completion of a session, to be removed and replaced with fresh, hot water laundered ones.
Lastly, please note, the massage therapist who works out of the studio next to mine, Ann, and I will coordinate to work with the same hygiene protocols required by the State.
I thank you for your loyalty and look forward to welcoming you back to a safe, therapeutic environment very soon. If there is anything I can do to make you feel more comfortable while here, or if you have questions or comments about the protocols etc., please give me a call or email.
